Blairsville Georgia and Union County are best known for the Blue Ridge
Mountains and the Appalachian trail. Blairsville is located in Union
County which is one of the three northeast Georgia counties located
completely within the Chattahoochee National Forest. Blairsville is
located about 112 miles northeast of Atlanta, and is easily accessed by
road or airport. The Climate consists of four very distinct and enjoyable
seasons. Altitudes range from 1600 feet to 4,784 feet above sea level.

Appalachian Trail,
A wilderness footpath that winds over 2,100 miles along the crest
of the Appalachian mountains. It runs through fourteen states
offering unlimited hiking adventures of exceptional challenge and
variety.

Brasstown Bald,
Spectacular 360 degree vista of four states atop North Georgia's
highest elevation at 4,784 feet above sea level. Visitor

Dukes Creek Falls,
A beautiful waterfall that drops about 150 feet down a sheer
granite canyon into Dukes Creeks. This area offers a slippery rock
waterslide, gold panning and a observation deck from the parking

Georgia Mountain
Fair, Georgia's most unique fair runs from August 5 to
August 16, 1998. The fair includes a Midway, Crafts, Exhibits,
Beauty Contest, Daily Pig Races, Pioneer Village and "Old Ways"
demonstrations. "Showplace of the mountains" Georgia Mountain
Fair, Inc. presents a wonderful line up of Premier Country Stars

Lake Nottely,
A 4180 acre body of water with 106 miles of shoreline. Boating,
fishing, picnicking and camping are all available. There are two
marinas and several public boat ramps along the lake.

Lake Winfield Scott,
A clear 18 acre lake high in the mountains with boating, fishing,
camping, picnicking, swimming and hiking. Covered pavilion and
bath house near swimming area.

Richard Russell
Scenic Highway, 14.1 miles
of scenic mountain drives, overlooks; crosses the Appalachian
Trail. Elevations range from 2040 feet to 3644 feet. Direct route
from Blairsville to Helen Georgia

Trackrock
Archeological Area, 52 acre area with preserved
petroglyph of ancient Indian origin. Carvings resemble animal and
bird tracks, crosses, circles and human footprints. Historical
markers locate the area.

Track Rock Stables,
Offering one and two hour rides 7 days a week, year round. Ride
through 250 acres, view lush colorful foliage as well as wild
